At what age should a new born start eating baby food? - baby born food

I have twins (almost 4 months) and I wanted to know when people started to feed their newborns, the baby food? My cousin told me to start, but I'm a little scared. I do not want to feed them before too. What do you think? I told them to start baby food, like carrots and things, or wait until at least 6 months, or is it in the long run? I am a mother first and I will not hurt in any way, so please help me. I really do not know what to do?
